excellent corrosion-resistant to both oxidizing and reducing media and excellent resistance to localized corrosion attack.

HASTELLOY C-276 alloy is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium wrought alloy that is generally considered a versatile corrosion-resistance alloy. C-276 alloy is an improved wrought version of alloy C in that it usually doesn't need to be solution heat-treated after welding and has vastly improved fabricability. This alloy resists the formation of grain-boundary precipitaties in the weld heat-affected zone, thus making it suitable for most chemical process applications in the as-welded condition. However, in environments where attack of the C-276 alloy weld joint is experienced, C-22 weld filler materials should be considered.

HASTELLOY C-276 alloy has excellent resistance to a wide variety of chemical process environments, including strong oxidizers such as ferric and cupric chlorides, hot contaminated media (organic and inorganic), chlorine, formic and acetic acids, acetic anhydride, and seawater and brine solutions. It is used in flue gas desulfurization systems because of its excellent resistance to sulfur compounds and chloride ions encounted in most scrubbers. C-276 alloy has excellent resistance to pitting and to stress-corrosion cracking. It is also one of the few materials that withstand the corrosive effects of wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide.

HASTELLOY C22

Hastelloy C22, Nicrofer 5621

A most versatile product like nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy available today with improved resistance to both localized and uniform corrosion as well as to a variety of mixed industrial chemicals but the Hastelloy C-22 alloy exhibits superior weldability and is used as weld overlay consumables over and alloy filler wire to improve resistance to corrosion.

Hastelloy C-22 alloy has exceptional resistance to a wide variety of chemical process environments, including strong oxidizers such as cupric and ferric chlorides, chlorine, hot contaminated solutions like (inorganic and organic), acetic anhydride and acetic acids, formic, and seawater and brine solutions. Hastelloy C-22 alloy resists the formation of grain-boundary precipitates in the weld heat-affected zone, thus making it suitable for most chemical process applications in the as-welded condition.

Hastelloy C-22 should not be used in service temperatures above 1250° F due to the formation of detrimental phases which form above this temperature.

Hastelloy C22 provides resistance to general corrosion, pitting, crevice corrosion, intergranular attack, and stress corrosion cracking. Hastelloy C22 can be used for many applications such as marine, power, chemical processing, pollution control, paper processing, and waste disposal industries. Hastelloy C22 contains chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, and iron which makes the alloy resistant to corrosion in stagnant or flowing seawater. The alloy is formed by gas tungsten-arc, gas metal - arc, and shielded metal-arc processes.
