This specification cover electric-fusion-welded austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel pipe suitable for corrosive or high-temperature service, or both, or for general applications. The pipes come in five classes. Prosaic Steel offers a range of Electric Fusion Welded Pipe in different sizes and standards. It is a pipe, which is a tubular section or hollow cylinder, and generally but not essentially of circular cross-section. Electric Fusion Welded (EFW) pipe is formed by rolling plate and welding the seam. Pipe is generally manufactured to one of several international and national industrial standards. Many industrial and government standards exist for the production of pipe and tubing. Meanwhile, Pipe assemblies are more or less for all the time constructed by means of the usage of fittings such as elbows, tees, and so on.

Prosaic Steel EFW Pipe Division consists of a JCO Forming Press, Helical / Spiral Mill, Inside and Outside Welding System, Heat Treatment Furnace and Testing Facilities with an annual installed capacity of 3,000 MT.

Welding process employed is GTAW for root-pass and SAW/TIG for final pass with suitable filler wires as prescribed by AWS specifications and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, section-IX. These facilities are capable of manufacturing Austenitic and various Duplex grade

A combination of 1600MT press brake machine, multiple rolls bending machine, welding installations for outside, inside and circumferential welding, size calibrating press& solution annealing furnace . All welders, welding operators and weld procedures are qualified to the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.

The ASTM A358 specification includes electric-fusion-welded austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel pipe. This pipe is suitable for corrosive, high-temperature service, and/or general applications. The pipes are divided into five different classes:

Class 1 pipe is double welded by using filler metal in all passes and completely radiographed.
Class 2 pipes is double welded using filler metal in all passes with no radiography.
Class 3 pipes are single welded
Class 4 pipes are single welded, however the weld pass of Class 4 exposed to the inside pipe surface may be without filler metal addition.
Class 5 pipes are double welded using filler metal and is spot radiographed.
